To Tossa in a Tuk Tuk

It all started on a rooftop in Kathmandu in the sunshine with a few beers shortly after Paul & Phillip had trekked to Everest Base Camp.

‘Why don’t we drive a Tuk Tuk to Tossa de Mar in Spain?’

Crazy idea, a bit like the one that had got them to Kathmandu in the first place but ‘To Tossa in a Tuk Tuk’ was born and there was no turning back…

A quick trip down to the Tuk Shop in Eastleigh and the boys had got the vehicle, the 200cc Piaggio Ape City in blue. Mr Steve kindly delivered the beast to Red Bull Racing in Milton Keynes where it sat proudly alongside Daniel Ricciardo’s RB12 F1 race car.

This is what the Tuk Tuk looks like now our friends at Red Bull Racing have worked their magic…
Proudly introducing the RB Tuk Tuk 001 ready for its journey to Spain on Monday 7th May 2018.

The journey will me made to fundraise, as always, for Macmillan Cancer Support.

2012 Cheque Presentation to Macmillan

This years donation to Macmillan Cancer Support from The Exhibition Pub & Golf Society was for a huge £8,500. This takes our total donated now to over £62,000 since 2005!

This years total was a great effort, our thanks to all those who attended our coffee mornings and took part in the 2012 Godmanchester Fun Run. In addition to our regular fundraisers like the meat raffle and football cards we have some other people to thank. One of our locals cycled from London to Paris, one dieted, ladies had babies and boys played golf. We also have to thank Coldplay for donating a signed CD and photo and Red Bull Racing F1 for donating a factory tour and tickets to Silverstone for the British Grand Prix.

In short, thank you to everyone who helped us this year and well done!

POETS day

Sunday is cheque presentation time,
A worthwhile cause for a Friday rhyme.
Macmillan Cancer Support will be here,
Join us around three to raise a cheer.

We’ve all worked hard to raise lots of cash,
I’ll be glad when I loose this moustache.
We’ve had coffee mornings and had to eat cake,
Amazing what you do for charity’s sake.

Bacardi Dave even shaved his head,
He looks better with hair it must be said.
Horse racing proved to be a money spinner,
I bet all night but couldn’t pick a winner.

The Fun Run this year raised loads of money,
The Leprechaun and Clown race was very funny.
Solanki Opticians ran and got people to donate,
To raise over five hundred pounds is truly great.

Mick draws the meat raffle Sunday at two,
Then presents vouchers to a lucky few.
Half marathons, rowing and golfing days,
We manage to raise funds in so many ways.

Macmillan will put it to good use we’re sure,
We’ll be back next year to raise even more.
If you’ve given us time, money and taken part,
Thank you very much from the bottom of our heart.
